TarraWarra Estate Restaurant @ Yarra Valley, Victoria

Our first stop for lunch before we begin our Yarra Valley Wine Tasting Experience.

TarraWarra Estate is a relatively large winery with a relatively modern building which has a Cellar Door & Restaurant. The TarraWarra Museum of Art is also nearby.

The restaurant is situated on the hilltop, overseeing the vast vineyard. It has a fireplace which made the modern looking restaurant decor looked more cosy. We ordered half dozen of freshly shucked oysters with cabernet vinegar & shallot dressing as entree and the char-grilled dry aged sirloin with fries as main.

The oysters were so fresh & succulent that we had a 2nd round! The beef was perfectly cooked, juicy and tender. Went very well with the glass of 2009 J-Block Shiraz that we’ve ordered.

Any good meal must end with nice sweet dessert. So we had the bitter chocolate pannacotta with orange caramel, white chocolate mousse & a cocoa wafer.

Great food with fantastic view, wonderful way to start our Yarra Valley day trip!
