Fisherman’s Wharf, San Francisco

It was a cold and windy morning when we reached Fisherman’s Wharf, we were happy to enjoy a nice hot Clam Chowder in Sourdough Bread Bowl at Boudin.

Luckily, after our breakfast the weather cleared up and we took a walk at the wharf area to visit the resident sea lions at Pier 39 before looking for a lunch venue to enjoy Dungeness Crab.

We didn’t have any specific restaurants in mind, so just walked into one which was opened by 11am – Fishermen’s Grotto.

We tried their Boston Clam Chowder (our 2nd chowder in the day) plus a Whole Dungeness Crab – Roasted in Olive Oil, Garlic and Fresh Lemon. I liked the way it was prepared, it brought our the sweetness of the crab meat. For those who like to  enjoy the crab in its natural taste, you can have the crab steamed.

How I wish I could readily access such fresh and nice dungeness crab in Singapore… but I am equally satisfied with our local Chilli Crab…hee =)
