I first heard about Na Na Fish Head Curry while queuing for Tori King at 100AM half a year ago. At that time 100AM had just opened and the unit next to Tori King was still hoarded up. There was a bunch of guys queuing behind me while waiting for our turn to be seated at Tori King and one of them said “In future when this curry place open, there would be 2 queues here…” he continued to rattle on how impressive the curry was.
Typically whenever we feel like eating Fish Head Curry, you would need to gather a group of friends so that we can share the huge portions. At Na Na Fish Head Curry, they serve curry size that are small enough for 1-2 pax and secondly they have the option of ordering fish steak curry instead of fish head.
The refreshing Calamansi would be cooling enough to be paired with the spicy curry, ensuring that we wouldn’t fall sick with sore throat after taking in the thick aromatic gravy.
Other than the Fish Steak Curry, we also ordered a Sambal Prawn and a Kai Lan with our meal.
The curry here was very thick and quite spicy (it’s not the assam kind), and included some other ingredients such as pieces of tau pok, long bean etc. Definitely goes well with plain rice.
The sambal used for the prawns was flavoursome but not everyone would like the texture of the prawns which were the crunchier type (like those processed with baking soda). The serving of the veg was quite generous but turned out slightly soggy.
Overall its reasonably priced for the quality of food and you get to enjoy curry in the comfort of air-con.
