Nuvo [Closed]

Nuvo is one of the new eateries in the revamped extension of Marina Square. The place was rather spacious and more importantly they are opened till 11pm on a weekday, which enabled us to enter the place and enjoy our late dinner without much rush.

The funny thing was my dessert item of Earl Grey Creme Brulee $12 was the first dish to be served. I reckoned that if I ask the server to bring it back, it’ll probably sit in the fridge till I ask for it after my meal; might as well let it sit on the table…

Tuna tartare Citrus marinated Tuna Tartare served with Avocado dressing & homemade crispy Black Olive Tuile $18 was served next. The tartare tasted slightly bland but I enjoyed the Tuile which was thin and light.

Spaghetti with Sakura Ebi Spaghetti cooked in rich Tomato sauce, served with premium Sakura Ebi $18 was done nicely but nothing to shout for. It was a nice surprise to see fresh prawns and prawn roe included in the dish. There was slight umami in the sauce. A pity that the Sakura Ebi was not fragrant enough.

Grilled King Prawns $18 was next and this dish had a bit of Thai influence in it. The gravy had tinge of Tom-Yum flavour, the prawns were fresh. However it would be rather not filling to have this as a main dish. For the same price better to go for pasta.

Finally we were ready to enjoy our dessert. The custard was well-balanced, not too sweet and not too overwhelming on the Earl Grey tea flavour. This was undoubtedly the best item for the meal.

If one considers the above as a 4-course meal for 1 pax, it wasn’t cheap. It added up to ard $65++.
