If this post seems kinda repetitive and has a deja vu feel, you are not mistaken. Yes, it’s another post about Roast Duck in Bayswater. We stopped over at Bayswater tube station and went to buy takeaway Roast Duck from Four Seasons Restaurant to compare it to Gold Mine’s version (which we felt its standard has dropped slightly – see post).
Perhaps we arrived before the peak hour, we didn’t wait long for our takeaway to be ready – there wasn’t any queue for eat-in as well. But wait, we heard “Gong Hei Fat Choy” greetings being exchanged at the hall amongst some of the diners, it’s CNY-eve! I suppose the restaurant should be fully booked later and we were just lucky to arrive early to avoid the crowd. Thankfully they still accept takeaway orders.
Although the duck meat turned lukewarm by the time we got back to our hotel, we were generally satisifed with the savoury gravy and tender meat. It would be even better if we had asked for the Chilli.
Having tried both the restaurants twice (first visits in 09 – see post), we couldn’t conclusively decide on which one to recommend anymore. It’s now a 1-1 tie.
After the quick dinner, we made our way to the Apollo Theatre to catch the broadway musical – Wicked.
