Aeiou Cafe [Closed]

Just when we though we had exhausted the cafes in the Jalan Besar area, we came to discover Aeiou Cafe. The cafe is located along King George’s Avenue, a road which we occassionally pass to get back to our office after lunch.

From afar, we thought this unit was purely a junk shop judging from the items displayed along the walkway. While indeed it is a lifestyle store selling refurbished and vintage furniture, it is also a cafe.

Had a heavy breakfast hence I wanted something light. Ordered the Pan of Sunshine top-up with salmon. Had a shock by the overdose of eggs when it arrived…

The 2 other jie-meis shared the Roasted whole chicken stuffed with garlic, rosemary and thyme, served with salad and 2 sides and 2 condiments. They were also stuffed by the sheer amount of meat at the end of the meal.

I’m slightly disappointed with the food but wouldn’t mind returning to try the Avocado Coffee. Though admittedly the re-purposed Vodka glass was what caught my attention.

[Update in May 2016]

Finally tried the Avocado Coffee, it was fabulous. Smooth and rich avocado with thick coffee. Although we visited after having a simple/light lunch, this was pretty filling.
