Platypus Lobster Shack

Having previously tried the Lobster roll at Platypus Kitchen in Bugis Junction, there is only one purpose for my visit to Platypus Lobster Shack – to try the Crustacean Bowl uni creme, butter-poached lobster, Japonica rice, honey ponzu, caviar, char-grilled cheddar cheese, sesame, chervil.

The star dish is available in 2 sizes – starter and main, so I went for the main portion. Despite not being a person with huge appetite I felt that the crustacean bowl portion pretty small. Although the rich uni creme was tasty and there is a mild smokey flavour to the cheddar cheese, I was perturbed that the dish was somewhat served cold?  Presentation wise, the colour also looked quite different from the ones I’ve seen on Instagram, gone were the vibrant orange uni creme and mine seems to look really pales in comparison (even with PS)…

Had a carafe of Sangria Lychee Rosso Red wine sangria, lychees, nectar, citrus which was ok. Tried the lobster roll again and it still didn’t impress me much.

Looking back at my past post about my visit to Platypus Kitchen, I realised that they had been pretty consistent in some aspects – relatively small portion, looks better than it actually taste…
