Sushi Jin

Having a nice fine dining lunch is a near impossible feat without taking leave ever since my office moved out from the CBD area. The recent opening of Sushi Jin was a welcomed news as it’s reasonably close to my current workplace. Great for those times whereby I really felt like having a good break to nurse our bad day at work…

Although we got to the building via the right MRT exit, we walked 1 round along the building walkway but couldn’t find the shop. Turns out that they were located in the air-con alley within the arcade.

The place was pretty quiet and relaxing, not too packed. I ordered the Bara Chirashi Don while jie-mei had the Hokkaido Don sea urchin, scallop & salmon roe over sushi rice. The lunch set comes with salad, miso soup & dessert, pretty standard for typical Japanese set meal.

Fresh multi-coloured seafood dons soon arrived on our table, although at first look the portion seemed to be slightly smaller than average. However a nice surprise awaits us underneath the pile of rich ingredients – the rice. Instead of using the plain sushi rice, they had added shiitake mushrooms to create extra texture and flavour to the don. That’s an interesting touch.

Needless to say the fishes and seafood were fresh and juicy, living up to my expectations of a restaurant under the Les Amis Group.
