L’Éclair by Sarah Michelle

The moment I realised that I was going for an event held nearby, I planned to hop over to the Singapore Shopping Centre to try out the pastry by L’Éclair by Sarah Michelle.

Arriving at early evening, I picked out 2 eclairs as pre-dinner snacks along with a pot of Lundi Light Green tea base, Mexican lemongrass. Caught the Kaya Pandan eclair which was re-introduced for a limited period to celebrate National Day and the Strawberries & Pistachio eclair.

The elcairs priced between $7-$9 each looked reasonably sized. I also liked that they have rich toppings sitting nicely on the tubular choux pastry; a twist from the standard fondant icing glaze. The kaya pandan eclair has coconut flakes toppings which added fragrance to the sweet aromatic jam. The pairing of fresh strawberries with chopped pistachios created an explosion of flavours and texture to the plain eclair.

Not satisfied with just having 2 of these wonderful creations, I bought another box of assorted eclairs home. They are available in box of 4, 6 or 10. From left to right: Earl Grey, Mango Passionfruit, Hazelnut Praline and Salted Caramel.

The eclairs have well-balanced flavours, rich textures, aesthetically pleasing and the pastry not too heavy.
