Having visited Sushi Jin before, I was eager to try JINzakaya when I read about its opening. JINzakaya is like the casual set-up of its fine-dining big brother next door, both under Les Amis Group.


Tried a few of their skewers including Tsukune, tebasaki, wagyu kushi, asparagus bacon and hotate. Maybe I had too high expectations of them, found their skewers quite ordinary.


Sake tataki was something different from the salmon sashimi since it was lightly torched.

The most unusual dish and quite interesting one is the Hiyashi chuka ramen crabmeat x salmon roe x shredded chicken x cold ramen x homemade chuka dressing. The ramen when eaten cold has a rather springy texture, though I think this dish will be excellent if they used somen. The chuka dressing was tasty and the chicken was tender and flavoursome.

They have a rather value-for-money set lunch from $12.80 from mains such as salad/ramen/donburi/sandwiches. There are 4 choices from each of the type of mains, and 1 drink is included (cold or hot tea). Quite a steal.
