Tolido’s Espresso Nook

We’ve shortlisted this place for lunch for quite sometime and we finally made our visit to Tolido’s Espresso Nook. This tiny cafe has very limited seats and as we don’t have the habit to make reservations for our lunch, we just had to try our luck to see if there are available tables. The problem with this area was if they are full, we have limited alternatives available without walking much further except the coffeeshop in the same block. This risk having to eat in a coffeeshop amidst the hot weather season was reduced since the opening of a boutique hotel around the area which has an aircon foodcourt and a famous bak kut teh shop.

True enough when we arrived, there wasn’t any available table to seat the 3 of us…we ended up sitting in the outdoor table. There was a low table available indoor but it will be rather uncomfortable for us who will be having our lunch hence we opted to take the outdoor table. All the other remaining tables were either occupied or reserved. I did a quick glance and estimate that the indoor normal table capacity could probably take 16 guests?

We took solace that there was at least a fan outdoor to cool us slightly. One of the key dish that lured me to visit them was the 462 Prawn Laksa Pasta which was interestingly a “dry laksa”. The dish turned out really well, the consistency and amount of gravy on the pasta was perfect.  Had to order a cup of Cafe Mocha to fend off the post-lunch coma.

While we enjoyed the food and drink, we would certainly recommend others to make a reservation in advance to secure a table. Since we usually are quite impromptu in our lunch venue, it could be quite a while before we can return to visit them again…
