Hattendo Cafe, Singapore

During my last visit to Japan Rail Cafe (post), we had noticed staff working inside this yet-to-be-opened cafe. At that time we were still guessing what this shop would be selling. The answer was soon revealed when we saw articles on newspapers and photos on instagram featuring Hattendo Cafe originating from Japan.

The cafe’s specialty are their Cream Buns available in 5 flavours: Custard, Whipped Cream, Azuki Beans, Chocolate and Matcha. Although most people said that there is a queue to get the buns, when we visited on a weekend evening there wasn’t a queue. However the signature custard flavour was already sold out, we only managed to purchase the remaining flavours.

The freshly made buns are served chilled and amongst which only the Azuki one has bits of red bean mixed into the cream to give an extra texture. Needless to say, the Azuki flavour was my favourite amongst the 4 that we tried.
