Nespresso Limited Edition Variations Capsules~ 2019

Marking the end of 2019, Nespresso introduced the Nordic Limited Editions. It was a coincidence that I visited the Nordic area in early 2019 covering Norway and Sweden. Therefore I felt a strong sense of connection to this year’s theme.

From the huge number of cafes in the Nordic cities, it was easy to reach a conclusion that they are addicted to coffee. It’s no wonder that the Scandinavian countries topped the charts for countries that consumes the most coffee. Their love for coffee also extends to how they enjoy their coffee breaks. The rest of the World is also catching on the Hygge and Fika trend which originated from the Scandi region.

We signed up for the Nespresso Club Member event where guests were treated to a exclusive preview to taste the coffees! Light bites were provided along with recommended cookies pairings.

For the Nordic Black which stands at a relatively mild intensity 5 level, they offered Sea Salt Fudgy Bite to go with it.

Variations of Nordic Almond Cake Flavoured and Nordic Cloudberry Flavoured are both intensity 6. For the former, you can pair it with Scandinavian Almond Bar while the latter is said to go with Cloudberry Golden Puff. The Cloudberry fruit is considered a national delicacy in Norway and Finland. Therefore it is definitely a worthy candidate to be representative of Nordic flavours.

Instead of going for the plain coffee, we opted to try out the Nordic-inspired coffee recipes. Staff were at the stations to guide us on simple steps to prepare these festive drinks. We made the Choco Coco Hohoho using the Nordic Black capsule with Coconut flakes and Chocolate Sauce.
