Eat 3 Bowls

Today we were sent back to school for lunch as Eat 3 Bowls was set up like a (Taiwan) primary school classroom. The menu had a cover of chinese exercise book.

Thankfully we weren’t required to do homework here and the tables and chairs have been upsized for adults. This Taiwanese cafe carries famous street food such as Braised Pork Rice, Chicken Rice and Oyster Intestine Mee Sua.  They have a mini set that serves all 3 bowls so that was probably the inspiration behind the cafe name.

As it was served in mini size, I found the Braised Pork Rice not too jelak (over cloying) and was easy to polish it up.

The Taiwanese style chicken rice was something that I’m eating for the first time. It was more savoury than it looked (plain white) and can help to cut the oiliness from the braise pork. I found myself switching between the two bowls to balance the meal.

Lastly the Oyster Intestine Mee Suan – was fabulous.  I enjoyed it even though I typically don’t like vinegar.

As growing up “kids” don’t have the concept of counting calories, we round up our meal with a cup of Pearl Milk Tea.

I think this cafe would give its neighbour a run for their money.
